Camp Croix has
been a place of
retreat and
fellowship for
our youth,
adults, church
groups and
families since
1951. Camp Croix
as it exists
today was
purchased in
1968. It
consists of 160
acres located in
north western
Wisconsin.
Located on
Rooney lake,
there is 2100
feet of lake
shore to enjoy
swimming,
boating and
water
activities.
Camp Croix was
initially a Gold
Star Mother
Camp. The Gold
Star Mothers
were a group of
mothers and
wives of World
War II veterans
whose sons or
husbands were
either killed
during the war
or shortly
after. (See
history page
for more
complete
information).
Camp Croix is
available for
use all year
round. It
consists of the
lodge which also
contains 6
upstairs
bedrooms. There
are 35
individual
cabins that
sleep an average
of 4 people per
cabin. The Red
Cross building
is used by the
Nurse during
bible camp weeks
and is available
to rent out year
round including
the winter
months. For a
map of the
campgrounds, see
camp layout
information.
